Custom Ubolt Bending
In 1986 when my father started Simcoe Spring Service he purchased a 30 ton Hydrualic Ubolt bender and after 40 years this machine is still putting out over 15,000 Custom made Ubolt every single Year.
So when you need a new set of Ubolts the esiest way is to bring them down to our shop and we can get them measured up for you. However if you want to measure your Own Ubolts, then I recommend using this chart here.
You will have to measure:
A - Thread diameter
B - Inner distance between the legs
C - Distance from the inner top of the ubolt to the bottom of the threads
D - Is the Ubolt bent round, square or a type of semi-round top.
We purchase unbent Ubolt rods from a variety of local companies that manufacture ubolt rods and they are shipped to us in bundles of 10. These Ubolt rods come in differnet Diameters ranging from 3/8", 7/16", 1/2", 9/16", 5/8", 3/4", 7/8" and all the way up to 1" around. Each rod that we order comes in 2" incraments as in 10", 12" 14" all the way up to 50" long or longer depending on the diameter. each rod also comes pre-threaded with around 2-5" of thread.
Now these threads are not cut, they are rolled cold and that gives us a lot stronger thread than if they where cut into the steel.
So one of the best parts of having our own Ubolt bender is that we can bend these Ubolt rods whatever size we want. We can take 1 size of Ubolt rod and bend it on a 2.5" square die and it works for a Chevy 1500 pickup, we can also take a different 3" square die and bend the same ubolt rod and now it works for a Ford F150.
With these 100 different sizes, we can bend over 10,000 different shapes and sizes of Ubolts. All of those sizes can be made in about 2 minutes each.
Each ubolt is measured and quality checked to make sure they are the correct size.
We can make any amount of Ubolts you desire. We normally bend them in small batches between 1 and 12 . We can always do larger batches, however any order over 12 may require more time. Any batches over 25 may require custom orders, so if you need a lot of Ubolt bent, just give us a call head of time to make sure that we have inventory or that we can order them for you.
